A day in the life of an Okra farmer

5:00 am  

trucks loaded with special crates leave the DFV the pack-house that is situated about 60 km from the Okra farms.

7:00 am  

these crates are distributed to the farmers.

Noon  

the farmers reap their harvest.

12:00- 4:00 pm  

they weigh and grade their produce under sheds situated close to the farms.

4:00 pm  

they carry the sorted Okra to the collection points that are within walking distance from their farms. The filled crates are loaded back into the trucks, payments made to the farmers.

6:00 pm  

the loaded trucks arrive back at the pack-house.
