Improving the Quality of the Farmer’s
Life
DFV has positively impacted its associate farmers’ lives
by introducing and promoting mutually beneficial schemes, projects
and initiatives. The new way of doing things allows the farmer to
spend more time with his family, get a fair price for his harvest
and live a life which is far more superior to what he used to live
earlier.
Classically, a farmer would spend the entire day in harvesting
and carrying the harvest to the nearest market that was about 90
km away. He would then sell his produce at prices fixed by an agent
that would typically be much lower than the market standards. The
farmer would then travel in the night to return home. And after
a couple of hours of sleep start the next day.
Today, the farmers have a much more comfortable and financially
secured life. Now they have to harvest, weigh and sort and bring
it to the DFV collection points that are very close by and where
they get a fair price. They can return home in good time and spend
time with their family.
